Rs. 15

Rs. 19.70

Rs. 20

 Hide Ans

Option(C) is correct

Let the amount taxable purchases be Rs. $x$.

\(6\%\text{ of }x=\dfrac{30}{100}\)

\(x = \dfrac{30}{100}\times \dfrac{100}{6}\)

Cost of tax free items

$=$ Rs. $[25 - (5 + 0.30)] $

$=$ Rs. 19.70

(4) Comment(s)

In total amount paid by gauri, has 30 paisas as sale tax and 5 rupees of taxable items which she has bought. by the exclusion of both of these amounts, the remaining amount will be 19.70 which is paid for purchase of tax free items.

Rakesh Maharana

she buys 2 types of items. one is tax free item and another is taxable item for which she has to pay tax. she pays 30 paisa as tax which is 6%. then cost of taxable item is 5. cost of tax free item is 25-5=20 again substract 30 paisa as tax. then cost of tax free item is 20-0.3=19.7

Vejayanantham TR

Let the taxable items cost = x rs

Here, 6% of x = 30 paise

Which can be written as

6% of x = 30/100

x = 5.

In this question, 25 rs include the tax

so, the tax free items rate = 25 -(5+.30paise) = 19.70
