ABC Ltd. is a courier company that uses three modes of transport for its services – Air, Rail and Road. The following pie charts show the distribution of the total number of couriers (Chart-1), Revenue Generated (Chart-2) and Total Cost (Chart-3) for the different modes of transport for the year 2006.

Assume that the only cost involved was that incurred on transport.

Option(**A**) is correct

Let, the total number of couriers be $360N$, the Revenue Generated be $360R$ and the Total cost be $360C$ for ABC Ltd. in the year 2006.

From the given information:

$\dfrac{198C}{90N}=\dfrac{ 2.2C}{N}= \text{Rs. }200$ -------- (i)

$\dfrac{72R}{150N} =\dfrac{ 0.48R}{N}= \text{Rs. }300$ -------- (ii)

Dividing (ii) by (i):

$\dfrac{R}{C} = 6.875$

The ratio of Revenue Generated to Total Cost for Rail transport:

$= 108R : 90C = 8.25 : 1$

$= \textbf{33 : 4}$

Since the ratio $\dfrac{R}{C} = 6.875$ is known, in order to calculate $108R : 90C$ you can do the following.

$\dfrac{R}{C} = 6.875$

$\Rightarrow 108R : 90C = \dfrac{108}{90} \times \dfrac{R}{C}$

$\Rightarrow 108R : 90C = \dfrac{108}{90} \times 6.875$

Which comes out to be,

$= 108R : 90C = 8.25 : 1$
