Solution:
Option(D) is correct

Total salary in 2002 is 360°.

So in 2003 it is $\dfrac{5}{4}× 360°$

$=450°$

Total expenditure in 2003 in food and rent is increased by 25%:

$=\dfrac{5}{4}×(54+72)$

$= 157.5$

All other expenditures remain same.

Savings in 2002 = 108°

Savings in 2003:

$= 450 - (18 + 18 + 36 + 54 + 157.5)$

$= 166.5°$

⇒ Percentage increase in savings is:

$=\dfrac{166.5 -108}{108}×100$

$= \dfrac{58.5}{108}×100$

$= \textbf{54.16%}$
