Data Interpretation Discussion

**Common Information**

The following pie charts show the results of a survey among employed men in a colony.

Total population is 7,200.

Q. |
At least what percentage of the men were less than 75 years of age and are neither engineers nor doctors? |

✖ A. |
10 |

✖ B. |
20 |

✖ C. |
25 |

✔ D. |
30 |

✖ E. |
40 |

**Solution:**

Option(**D**) is correct

Men who were of age 75 years or above = 20%

Men who were either Doctors or Engineers:

$= 100 + 80$

$=180°$

$= 50\%$

⇒ The maximum number of people in the given categories:

$= 20\% + 50\%$

$= 70\%$ (when none of the Doctors or Engineers is 75 or above}.

At least $100 - 70 = \textbf{30%}$ of the men were less than 75 years of age and neither doctors nor engineers.

Above 75 =20% =1440

Let all engineers and doctors are in this group.total doc and eng= 50%=3600

3600-1440=2160...these are doc and eng less than 75 yrs of age.

7200-1440=5760= total people less than 75

5760-2160=3600 are no of people less than 75 and neither doc nor eng=50%
