Q. |
A batsman scored 110 runs which included 3 boundaries and 8 sixes. What percent of his total score did he make by running between the wickets? |

✖ A. |
$45\% $ |

✔ B. |
$45{\dfrac{5}{11}}\%$ |

✖ C. |
$54{\dfrac{6}{11}}\%$ |

✖ D. |
$55\%$ |

**Solution:**

Option(**B**) is correct

Number of runs made by running,

$= 110 - (3 × 4 + 8 × 6)$

$= 110 - (60)$

$= 50.$

Required percentage,

$= \left(\dfrac{50}{110}×100\right)\%$

$= 45\dfrac{5}{11}\%$

Can anybody please simplify and explain the last few steps, how do we get the required percentage?

Hey Naaz, there was a typo in the last line. Instead of dividing by $110$ (= total runs scored) it was being divided by $100$. Corrected the mistake. Hope it is clear now.

does anyone have a simpler solution
